On mettra fin à démocratie. |

But For Biafra... (2)
Interactions with individuals and small groups from the diverse ethno-cultural nations in Nigeria often prove that generally the Igbo think harder (and work harder too) than the others… But nigerianly, this hardworking and hard-thinking are no longer chanelled toward better public results future-ward. Ibo youths think seriously about the future, only vast majority no longer strive to make that future. Active, they "hustle" to enjoy the present as much selfishly as possible…
Within Igbo populations, able-bodied youths employ any advantage of knowledge or weaponry they have over their sisters and brothers in exploiting or harming them…(fellow Nd'Igbo) for financial for profits…
The moral and economic character of a political entity (group) is largely a reflection of the characters of the vast majority of the constituent individuals. Physical environment et cetera matter but less than the moral worldview of the people. Anti-typicals are usually very, very few.
Ordinary Africans of today have a cause to thank the Impartial Powers of Goodness: that cruel adventurers from Europe et al are no longer interested in direct, on-the-touch enslavement. There have been complaints about, and condemnations of, the Slave Trade. These were academic. Real-world facts remain that: were the foreigners to come back now and demand for direct slaves, mighty women and men of Africa will do it again; they'll merchandise their sisters, brothers, neighbours…this time 100-fold more fiercely. Indeed, this time, Africa would be emptied into slave-dealers' ships in weeks, not years… Adventurous money-mongers from Ala-Igbo and from other dollar-sickened ethnic peoples would be at the head of this abominable enterprise.
THere is this abortion worker. He feigned stranded. One gentle man welcomed and accommodated him temporarily, not knowing he's not a stranded ethnic brother he made himself into. Given brotherly love and freedom, he got his host into serious trouble within days… Then came a deluge of hopeless consolation of: "'You're lucky to have survived' …to answer court questions..." Several of such happen monthly in the Community of West African States: Togo, Bénin, Nigeria, Ghana et cetera. Almost all the victims and their victimizers... are Biafrans. In one instance in Mambila, Gembou (between Nigeria and Cameroun), the host did not survive it. For being brotherly to a young ethnic colleague who appeared to be in need, he was slaughtered in his sleep with a table knife by the ethnic brother, for his money, 300,000 naira, in a foreign town!
Èbǜbè mmadụ adịghịzi n'ányá Igbo; O fuola. Ihe dịzi bụ èbǜbè ego…
Brave Biafrans! If they apply their courage in criminality, sai gari ya ķone… The soup of Nigeria is not emitting appetizing odour. It is not only stale, it's also poisonous. But the better-smelling soup of Biafra is not better. At least, not yet by prospects… Biafrans are so shackled with nigerianities; which are most prominently expressed in unthinking money-love and ostentatious cult-billionairism… Nothing, no law is sacred for people to avoid breaking it with effrontery; just for money. Apart from periods of anti-Igbo pogroms, is not the ordinary igbo person as unsafe with his igbo brother as with malicious anti-Igboists, even more so?
Were Biafra materially tangible, and can be sold or bought like loaf, it is not unthinkable, not even improbable, that some merchanticians of Biafran nativity would connive and sell Biafra…and become dollar-billionaires; and consider their activity as cleverness or smartness. In Nigeria and in Biafra, many women and men so uninhibitedly mortgage their future and that of their children for ostentatious bigness of the present: convoy of cars, chieftaincy titles, national honours (for disservice or silence at disservice). In Nigeria of now, robbery is a state policy, an over-riding one, even though it's not visibly encoded in their sacred-books. Immorality is a distinguishing factor of a Nigerian public office-'. Patriots are a tiny minority.
That is why, although Biafra is an imperative necessity, an imperative inevitability, it is difficult to imagine a free Biafre…as it is approaching; just as it is frightfully disquieting to conceive of a Nigeria 40 years from 2009! If men do this with green twigs, what won't they do with dried faggots? That iniquities shall over-abound is like saying that a furnace-roasted object shall get scorched...
What public officials is Biafra going to be having in a private-billionairist society? Money is good; money-worship is bad, very bad…
Freedom is much more than flag and politicking (flag-hoisting politicking). Everywhere Nigerians hoist flags. Everyday they sing '...May the labours of past heroes never be in vain'. Do these mean any thing in (their) living? Quite nothing! Even the labours of present and future heroes are already wantonly being drafted into vain-ness…
Freedom, like love, is first of all a worldview, a way of life; a way of living, somewhat independent of intellect or emotions…yet necessarily nourished by a balanced blend of all. It entails trust and interdependence…
By certain facts, few peoples (nations) are satisfactorily free in actuality. Prosperity often comes with freedom. But that is freedom, not political separation, which often is mere ceremony.
One exceptional thing is on the side of Biafra for good: just as there are many restless, highly facultative workers of lawlessness there, there are also highly facultative, self-sacrificing defenders and promoters of goodness there… These are the hopes of Biafra above Nigeria, above many other flakes and pieces into which Nigeria is setting to smash itself in the years ahead… |

But For Biafra...
Anytime, anyway one weighs the matter, a lot of economic, sociologic and political stuff about ndị Igbo in Nigeria are dis-jointed. They don't match consequential logic…
Lengthy observation makes me conclude that the Igbo group are the spirit, the engin, of the agitation agitation for a Biafra. Theirs in Nigeria are ironies of ironies… In the loveless union, better called mis-union, of Nigeria, The Igbo are seen as evil. Nearly everywhere they go in Nigeria, People and peoples allude to them as venturous bad people. But none ever says why the Igbo are hated. Nothing specific. Just that they are bad. For what are they bad? Well, that is in Nigeria: among ethnic kindreds…
Yet it is the Igbo who want "to go out" of Nigeria for a separate political existence. Nigerians, collaborating with colonial outsiders, bloodily refuse(d). Were it the "'evil NdịIgbo' from among whom…or who should never be allowed executive chance" who insist on political one(ness of) Nigeria, the Igbo-phobic situation in Nigeria of Nigerians would make some sense. And were it the Igbo who castigate themselves this way, it would have some logical explanation.
But if Nigeria decomposes politically now, just now, Ndị-Igbo are the, or one of the, unreadiest for any separate nationhood. Among ordinary people, that's: people without escort or armoured (bullet-proof) attire, if a Fula, Hausa, Tiv, Birom et sequens northerner is molested elsewheres, he'd hurry back home…and be welcomed by his people. Molest Odud'wa southerner: he'd relunctantly flee to his home…just as he might have travelled out reluctantly. Molested Igbo southerners away from native home often prefer to stay and pacify or appease their molestors; even if that entails giving up most of their right to freedom, residential welcomeness and private-ness of property.
It once happened in one province in northern Cameroun. The provincial authorities made punitive taxation laws. They affected many étrangers doing business there. The majority, more than half of Les étrangers were Biafrans. Most of the other peoples re-migrated away. Generally, the Biafrans did not. They accepted equanimously to pay taxes of more than 1000,000 (million) francs CFA annually. This consumed the biz capital of many of them. This happened before 2003.
Now, think also of what these people undergo in north(ern) Nigeria…, in Chad, in Niger. Living among lazy but hateful and religion-confused peoples. Why?
Probably because, back home, the condition awaiting them, though less drastic, is worse…
The Igbo are naturally democratic. "Democratic" not in the sense of a formally set-up cloak or nomenclature of government, but as a way of life, the encompassing informal business of living. But nowadays, NdịIgbo have largely lost that nature, or refuse to practice it as informally as they used to…The Igbo have largely become nigérianised. When sentient beings lose or abandone their nature without transformation, without internalizing a new and better nature, they become empty; strange to themselves. That is what has happened to NdịIgbô. One of the syndromes of this is seen in the igbo man's not feeling important unless he's a millionaire or billionaire. Extreme financial materialism took root in the spirit of the igbo youth. And since financial materialism is one of the most infectious phenomena (think of how the people of the United-States of America infected nearly the whole world with their 7-digit-salary sickness), one hardly meets onye-Igbo who has not been infected. Not that NdịIgbo are more materialistic than others in Nigeria. In fact, they are less. But being a people who work, a people who don't "talk" more than they "do", a people who'd rather "do" more than they "talk", a people who believe more practically in cause - and - effect than in intrigues and conspiracies, their style tend to pronounce their acquisitive tendencies louder than those of others; even though it from among NdịIgbo one encounters in Nigeria more individuals who give really generous gifts; gifts of their time, skill and material resources. From among them are more people whose gifts are not mere commercial investments or bribe, but free impartation from the heart...
Still ironic: NdịIgbo are likely the most patriotic inhabitants of the geographic enclave called Nigeria. Living in dense numbers every centre, nook and cranny…Nd'Igbô never cause trouble to their host communities. Many other peoples differ. For example, a dozen Fula wouldn't mind starting a war with their host community for more grazing space…
Still more ironic is the non utility of the language of NdịIgbo. Found everywhere in hundreds of thousands, and at home in dozens of millions, ndị Igbo often do not speak their language in its originality. The youths have even converted igbo language into a pidgin rather than a lingo with cultural traditions. They don't even know the names of numeral figures such as 1, 2, 5, 10, 100 et ceterix… In Yola, we the students of the language use it better than its indigenous owners. Were Igbo as much used as Ndị-Igbo are found, this language would be among the most universal languages on the surface of the earth...and even beyond...

☼Ebee Ka Nd’Igbo Si Bịa? A Contention About The Origin Of Igbo Ethnic Kindred.. .
☼
Nke a bụ nkenke nrựgharị okwu n'ihe Ọka-mmụta Ogbukagụ dere n'akwụkwọ ya (english version)
Contention With The Riddles Of The Origin Of Ndi-Igbo
The writer (of The Igbo and Riddles of their Jewish Origins) alleged, or better, asserted that the Igbo (Nd'Igbo) were originally a Jewish Hebrew kindred. They migrated from the Middle East (Paletsine or Sinai) to their present settlement. He based his stance on two premises: socio-dynamic similarities between the two peoples and a purported "divine" revelation to a man named Okorie. True. Socio-culturally, the Igbo and the Jews have many similarities in their ways of living: worshipping; punishing vices; rewarding or celebrating virtues et cetera. They are commercially astute, and they are moneymongers, generally. Plus: they have been visited with attempted extermination which they survived resiliently. Good.
Certainly, Ndi-Igbo and Jews are extra-industrious peoples. The Igbo are aggressively, often insubordinately, enterprising; generally more venturous than their regional neighbours.
I do not share his faith in this Jewish origin. I am of the view that any genealogical link between Nd'Igbo and the Jews is in the context of the common ancestry of mankind. Igbo people might be older in origination than the Jews.
Nd'Igbo are Negroid; Jews are not. Jews went with their religion wherever they went; Yahwh or Yehovah, the central supernate of the Jewish religion and philosophy was unknown among Nd'Igbo before 1800. Even Christianism, which was originally an outgrowth of Judaism, took root in Igbo-land only in the second half of the nineteenth century. The Jews had always been a highly literate people ( the Bible, especially the Old Covenant is a great testimony to this); the Igbo had not always been, though they are intellectually extra-inquisitive. The Jews do not believe in re-incarnation, biblically (they recorded almost all events and conditions of their living = the Bible. None of them depicts a faith in the re-embodiment of dis-embodied entity). The Igbo do. The Jews had always had the 7-day week. Primordial Igbo week is of 4 days. The Jews are (were) an emotional people ( the story of: the Crucixion; the execution of Stephan by stoning; the Golden Calf, are three of the many instances of Jews' emotional tendencies, in The Book). They reason. But they emote equally. The Igbo are an analytical, calculating, people. They exercise their rational faculties more than they do their emotional ones.
Ndi-Igbo and Jews have a custom of affixing phrases or words of divinity to the rootwords of individuals' names. Examples: In the name Chukwuemeka (the greater god has outperformed; that's, ...has outmatched expectation by performance), the basic moniker is Emeka (E meela karịa). In the name Onyinyechi (Donation of god), the rootname is Onyinye. The Jewish name Obadiah (servant of Yah) is basically 'servant'. But the identificational emphases of the naming systems of the two peoples are actually different. The Igbo child bears the names of its biologic father or male guardian. The name identifies the individual as a person only. Examples: The name of Mr. Omenka's son, Emeka, is Emeka Omenka; Emeka's child, Ojemba, is Ojemba Emeka; the 'Emeka may be Nnaemeka, Ogoemeka, Alaemeka (Aniemeka),... Ojemba's daughter, Obianuju, remains Obianuju Ojemba till she married, thenceforth, the name of her husband or that of her father-in-law would become her surname. Among the Jews, a name is an identity as well as a qualification. It identifies the person and also declares some of his other attributes like town of origin or of residence. And the name of an adult often includes allusions of the character, occupation, authority, temperament…of the bearer; and even the reputation of his home town. Nabal (1 Samuel 25 : 2 – 3, 25). Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew 27 : 57). Yehudah Ish-Qerioth (Judah the man from Kerioth), translated Judas Iscariot (Matthew 26 : 14). Shaul (Paul) of Tarsus; et ceteris sequentia. The people in Palestine now we call Israelis also bear kindred names rather than fathers' names.
Even in the custom of circumcision, Jews touched not females…Igbo way in this particular custom is a bit different…
Before the advent of modern day global experimentation in nation-state democracy, the Jews were monarchy-inclined while Ndi-Igbo were natural, gerontocratic republicans. Although Igbo chieftains had some prerogatives, they did not, in ordinary circumstances, arrogate supreme political power to themselves, unlike monarchs. They were more of aggregators than dictators of opinions. In ancient Israel, the office of prophets was a recognized, integral part of the(ir) society. Among Ndi-Igbo, there was no (never) such office. In fact, queer preternates, mystical individuals among them, by whom most of the wise sayings of Igbo culture were enacted, were largely regarded as aberrants; not listened to or obeyed with dignity befitting prophesy-bearers.
In linguistic congruity, Hausa and Tuareg are closer to the languages of Middle Easterners, Jews included, than Igbo is. In economic industry, surely the Igbo is extra-ordinary. They differ a bit from most of their regional neighbours.
Modernly, every Jew still regards other Jews as members of his or her family. That is: their extended family sense is so intensively extended… Something akin to Fula and Tuareg… Among NdịIgbo, the informal notion of extended family is very narrow. Beyond home-town camaraderie, to the typical igbo person, other igbo people are mere ethno-lingual comrades (…propensity partners); each regarded as no less a stranger than a non-Igbo stranger.
But Ogbukagu concentrated on the Igbo of South East Nigeria. There are other ethnic kindreds in the central Africa zone, just extending eastward of the Nigerian Igbo, who are similar. Bamu(n) is an indutrious, intellectually oriented people. Bamileke (of Bamenda region) can be regarded as a differentiated Igbo ethnicity. Their points of difference are mainly language, location, number (population), and the fact of Bamileke not having been genocidally visited by external forces.
There other peoples too who have strong willpower and great love of individual independence.
Professor ogbukagu blundered a bit. He was inconsistent about the physique (especially complexion) of his proposed genetic forbears of Nd'Igbo. He said they were black people, and proceeded to describe the present Igbo as blackly (complexionally) different from their fair-complexioned (white) "Jewish" progenitors, due to climatic and intermarital influences.
I have one grouse here: this piece of work may become an intellectual mask, a source of cognitive delusion to the future generations who may see it as canon for an intellectual faith. There are many factors minimizing the acceptability of Ogbukagu's assertions.
This psycho-propensity to force jewhood on oneself does not help the Igbo's self-identity or self-confidence (in the affaires of the world). And it has no meaning in the facts, factors and arts of living. Has it?
The Igbo is Negroid and African, proper. If they emanated from somewhere or some people, those were not the Jews…
